Showcasing Local UX

AfriCHI 2025 – Egyptian Innovation Showcases

Africa Computer Human Interaction conference (AfriCHI) is planned to take place in Egypt during November 4-8, 2025. Local organisers wish to leverage this opportunity to showcase the best in practice, research and innovation in the fields of Computer Human Interaction and Usability taking place in Egypt. We would like to invite universities, higher education institutions, industry and research centres to showcase their best work, to be showcased at the conference main poster session, and engage with the conference's wider audience. This can include posters of research projects, industrial case studies, or practical demos. We are interested in showcasing innovative work coming from all over Egypt, particularly by students. We highly encourage submissions that showcase innovation from outside Cairo and Alexandria (e.g., Delta and Upper Egypt).

The following themes are encouraged, but suggestions for additional themes are most welcome.

  1. Relevance of Computer Human Interaction to industrial applications.
  2. Role of Computer Human Interaction in Digital Health and Healthcare devices.
  3. Relevance of Computer Human Interaction to innovation.
  4. Role of Computer Human Interaction/ design in general in development.
  5. Training, education and capacity building in Computer Human Interaction.
  6. Obstacles in capacity building for usable designs.
  7. Can AI help ease human-oriented design issues?

Applicants are also encouraged to tie their work, if possible, to the conference theme as in “re-centering Egyptian wisdom in HCI”.

Participants are invited to submit abstracts, suggesting one of the categories above, of between 200-300 words by the advertised deadline, showing the names, full titles affiliations, and contact details of the proposer(s).
