Beyond Limits
The fourth AfriCHI conference was hosted in East London, South Africa with the theme “Beyond Limits”. The conference theme recognised the importance of bringing AfriCHI to more rural locations, such as South Africa’s Eastern Cape, and was organised in partnership with a non-governmental organisation Pan African Information Communication Technology Association (PAICTA). The 4th edition of AfriCHI kick-started with pre-conference activities such as a Design Challenge, Hackathon, Summer School and workshops by HCI and industry experts. The AfriCHI 4th edition reflected on the growth of Human-Computer Interaction in Africa in relation to the myriad problems facing the world today.
